Posting on behalf of the OH who would rather I asked (just in case) as she uses PH at work...

Her job has a fixed term contract that ends on friday. She has been offered an extension on her contract but has not yet signed the document that says:

Document said:
Following changes to your contract:

Extension of contract upto xxx

For our records please acknowledge that you accept these contractual changes by returning a signed copy of this letter as soon as possible.
Can she just not turn up to work on Monday, or will there be repercussions? (legally, not morally or personally).

(May be a possibility of a new job soonish)

Thanks.

Shirley, she can just say "Thanks but no thanks"?

If her contract ends on friday she is free to do what she wants.

Legally, no. Personally I'd be making sure I had all the necessary paperwork in place to ensure payment before I left on Friday, just in case someone gets pissy because the assumed / implied extension didn't actually happen.

She has already been paid for the month.

Otherwise sounds good thanks.
