Hi All

In the past I’ve always taken the Elise to Vindis St. Ives for its MOT and Service and had a good reception there from Darren. He seems to have moved on now – just wanted to see if people are still experiencing a good service?

I think it is only natural that I would feel nervous leaving my pride and joy with anyone smile

If you want a good specialist there is GST in Newmarket or PSR in Bishop's Stortford. Used both and excellent service. Other than that Castle in Stansted are a main dealer.

I'd highly recommend GST.

Top service, honest blokes and they'll go out of their way to sort any problems you have out. He even made himself late to catch a plane for his summer holiday (and very unpopular with his wife!) so he could stay and sort my Elise out so I could get onto a trackday that afternoon.

As I said, a really good honest outfit, and he's an ex-factory technician too!

I use track-club for my Exige, (they've also done some bits to my TVR and they track prepped my S1 Elise), they are in the process of setting up a new operation close to A1 \ A14 (or were last time I spoke to them at the Elise Brands Hatch race).

Service and labour rate were fantastic, will do exactly what you ask and never any suprises on the bill........and they don't f##king charge for god damm screenwash on a service.........

Hi Tim

I'm interested to know more about Track - club, where are they currently located and do you have any more info on their new operation close to the A1/A14 cos that's only 10 minutes from me

They have a set up geared towards their track and race operations on the A1 at St Neots at the moment so handy for Cambridge, Bedford and anyone on the A1 in Herts, Beds, & Cambs. A second operation is being developed at the moment next door to Eliseparts.com

I spoke to Stephen at Snetterton and he said this will probably be up and running in July and as well as general repairs and upgrades it will ultimately include full factory approved geometry equipment and act as a track and race technology centre for people that want in car video \ data etc. I expect he'll stick a note up here when it's ready.

Another vote for GST. Just had my S2 Exige serviced there, top job, well priced and a friendly service would recommend. Vindis at St Ives managed to damage paintwork on my wheels just changing tyres so i did not have alot of faith in them i'm afraid.

track-club will have a new facility next Eliseparts.com opening up in around a months time. Anything from basic servicing to full corner weighting, engine mapping and tuning options for the Exige & 2-Eleven. Most things other than engine transplants really.

To report back: Through convenience, and some loyalty, I went back to Vindis anyway. In hind sight it was the wrong choice (mental note to follow PHers advice in the future), they are totally scaling back their Lotus operation and the customer service I received was terrible. They only had 1 car in for sale and when I asked if I could test drive an Evora I was ask “what’s an Evora”. The service picked up a few items but I didn’t find out till I got home (after they had the car for a full week) and read the service sheet stapled to the back of my bill. I think, but can’t really prove, that they scuffed the rubber above one of my lights and the car was returned in a far far dirtier state than it was dropped off.
Next year is a C service and a few bits will need doing so I might just take it back up the road to the factory service centre and get it sort there.

Now open, had my Exige in for a geo check and adjust, which it needed.......badly! They have the same Hunter High Definition Camera geo kit that the factory uses. As it happened I also needed a tyre so I popped across to Eliseparts (20 yards) picked up a tyre and they fitted and balanced it at the same time.

From talking to Stephen it sounds like they have so much work on that they aren't really advertising at the moment but will start once the race season has finished. They'll do geo's and work on other stuff as well so getting my TVR geo checked next week after. There was a very broken 2-Eleven in there, anyone from here had an off?

Track Club built my Elise Trophy race car and I have got 18 podiums in it so they know what they are doing. They also service my 211 and its not missed a beat despite 6000 track miles.

Stephen does not take the p*** and the mechanics are absolutely top notch (gearbox change on an S1 3 hours at track!!!!)
