In case it's useful to anyone, XJ and S-Type (and some X-type)parking distance sensors are interchangable.

Contrary to what both the parts shop and Jag themselves advise, all sensors types with the three pins arranged in a "V" all work.

Having played around with a few, it means that I've picked up an S-Type one for £15 from JustJags, rather than paying £75 for an XJ one from Jag.

Oh, and as it doesn't seem to be mentioned anywhere on here, here's how you diagnose a faulty one if your sensors aren't working (i.e. you get the long tone when you put it in reverse):
1) Start engine and apply handbrake.
2) Chock rear wheels (and preferably have a friend sit in the driver seat with his foot on the brake)
3) select reverse.
4) Move your ear close to each of the sensors in turn - you should hear an audible clicking noise from each.
5) It all or none are clicking, then the fault is with the control unit
6) If just one isn't, then swap it with another. If the fault switches, then it's a sensor, if the fault stays put, then its in the wire or connection.
