Sorry if this has already been covered. I bought my car from and had it regularly serviced by Greens. My average service costs were £250. I live in north Kent and am looking for somewhere reasonably close to carry out a service (but not in London!) as my car has spent all day at a Monaro approved dealer who has just quoted an astronomical amount to service it.
Monkfish (or Rapid GB I understand) are great but they aren't well located if you just need a service. I don't mind driving halfway across the country for a decent chunk of work but just for service is a bit awkward. Last time I took it away from the Bristol main dealer it had a new dent, so I'm looking for a decent place in the South West. Picadors in Southampton maybe? Still a nuisance of a drive but not quite as far as Monkfish etc.
I don't believe they are Monaro approved but you could try W J kings at Dartford - Princes Road. (unless they are the ones you've already tried!)
Speak to Tony in the service department and see if he can help. Say Tom Blatcher recommened them to you (I'm his son), my dad worked there for 50 years and was workshop manager.
If he can't help he'll tell you but might know somewhere else.

why oh why do people believe they have to take it to an authorised vauxhall dealer for a service? 250 quid to change the oil and filter? BTW dont forget that Walkinshaw do services too, based in Chipping norton which will be a damn site closer than south hampton for the bristol member
Dependant on the service do it yorself, I've had the fish do mine when I had other work being done but otherwise if I still had the car the jobs would be done myself.

seriously though not at all. As long as your car is serviced in the correct time frames using OEM parts or parts of a better quality, the work is carried out competently (lets face it most of the garages these days employ arse scratchers) the warranty has to be honoured.
Its funny you should mention warrantys. When I had my Omega I noticed a rusty patch starting on one of the doors. I got one door repaired under the body work warranty and then I noticed another door doing the same.
Thinking it should be a piece of p*ss to get the other door done I went to another dealer (the one I had used previously had closed its bodyshop) and because it had not been serviced all its life by Vauxhall they refused to do it !! Utter b*stards.
They said it had to be serviced by Vauxhall and have the body inspection parts of the service book ticked. It had been owned by VX for the first year as a fleet car and the first service they had done they hadn't done the body check so it invalidated the 6 year body warranty. Complained like f*ck by they stood their ground.
Absolute b*llocks.

Thats rubbish - the main dealer servicing requirement was dropped under pressure of the OFT in 2004.
As long as the car is maintained to the manufacturers schedule, the serving items checked and original parts used there is no basis to reject a warranty claim. The stamp in the book is meaningless other than for resale value.
If you have receipts detailling the service was done then thats all you need. However if you've got no proof the car has been serviced then it's more shakey but I didn't think the bodywork warranty was constrained by the servicing schedule.

I agree about the mechanical warranty - you can use anybody else as long as its genuine parts.
Its the bodywork warranty that threw me !! Maybe it wasn't the fact that it hadn't had a full VX dealer history but the fact it hadn't had the body inspection checks carried out at the same time as the service.
Whatever it was it was the fact that the first bodywork check had not be carried out by a Vauxhall dealer when it was still owned by Vauxhall !! So they invalidated their own warranty !!
BTW - what is the bodywork warranty on a Monaro bearing in mind it hasn't got any rust proofing ?!

The bodywork warranty is like the car generally, conditional on having the regular checks made (either By main dealer or independant). Funny thing is though, virtually none of the dealers ever stamp the body check section of the book! I know this, because we do.
