Forget all that religious nonsense, but however you look at it, Jesus was a remarkable success:

Obscure birth, poor family, unknown upbringing, walked around preaching for ONLY ONE YEAR or so, executed, nothing special, but then then: millions and millions of followers, wars, conquests, empires created and destroyed in his name. WTF?

Has anyone else ever been so successfully marketed in such little time?

OK, apart from Jade Goody.

Sorry but the thrilla in Manilla Fraiser should have been allowed to go into the final round Ali wouldnt have been able to get out of his seat. - Yes I know the risk that would have meant for Fraiser but fraiser wanted to give Ali the beating of his life and IMHO he did just that. Ali was a disgrace the way he taunted Fraiser in the run up to that fight calling him a Golly and what was that derogatory name for blacks who wanted to be whites? disgusting.
Sadly Ali is a multimillianaire and Fraiser lives in a sh&t holt in the bronx IIRC still in a grimy boxing club - and he still hates Ali for what he said to him and it was Ali who didnt have the balls to go to Vietnam when he was called up and suddenly "found" a new faith.

To me Ali is always Cassius Clay.

Not even close. Che was active for years and now is only known by a few hippy posters and has no followers.

The Big J did a few talks over the space of a few months and a large proportion of the worlds population think he's god!

But the whole "kill your idols" thing .. well it's so christian

anyway, the whole Che poster thing is better than JC. There's nothing worse than waking up in the morning seeing a poster of JC on your bedroom wall and feeling guilty for the rest of the day because of that ..

yeah but at least they havn't named a biscuit after him like this poor bloke

"Giuseppe Garibaldi was involved in every major battle in Italy, provoking revolution in Sicily, bringing about the collapse of the Bourbon monarchy, the retreat of the Austrian empire, the overthrow of the Papal States, and the creation of the Italian nation. And he did so with the glamour of a latterday Robin Hood. At one point the Pope put a large bounty on his head, but not one Italian betrayed him"

He got rid of the Bourbon dynasty. They had to name a new biscuit after him.

AIG insured JPM's collateralised mortgage obligations which allowed JPM to develop this business which led to the worse stockmarket crash since 1929... Jesus would never have allowed it, or at least he would have understood the maths better.
