I thought twice about posting this up but it is in the public domain now. In addition to the extent of damage a crash can inflict on a Noble, the item reminds us all that lives can be fecensoredked up in an instant.

Drive safe - you own a potentially deadly weapon!

Rob, I've had to read that twice, so they were speeding and she pulled out on them, if they hadn't have been speeding and the dozy cow had pulled out on them, who's fault would it have been?

Sorry to sound harsh, but i agree with Adrian. I cannot believe the driver of the clio has not been mentioned or prosecuted for dangerous driving or undue care and attention herself! . OK, maybe she didnt anticipate the closing speed too well, but it only takes a few seconds to turn right into another road. She either went really slowly when turning, or pulled out way too late anyway. The difference in distance between 60mph and 40 over that few seconds the clio turned right would be next to nothing.

speed limits are there for a reason ive not been on that road like most on here but as most will no we nobil drivers dont have a god given right to flowt the law just because some lady wants to turn at a slow speed that is not against the law ive been in an acident not to different to that one as a passanger in 1983 and had a face full of stiches to boot so to blame the clio driver is very small minded

It says they were thrown from the vehicle... Surely if they has seatbelts on that wouldn't be the case, it's not as if the car rolled spectacularly down a steep embankment or the likes.

I hate the way the police exaggerate cases like this, feel sorry for the girls and the guy, poor Noble even...

What is 'well in excess of 60mph'? 65...80....120? Sounds unknown to me. I would also be interested to know the stopping distance of the Nob at say 70mph. Wouldn't mind betting its well below the Corsa at 40mph.
Not saying its ok to go crazy on any road, but I do believe there's always a lot of guess work in these situations and looking at the front end of the Nob from the picture, my guess is the impact being no higher than 40mph.
(Just so you understand the prejudice, I was in high speed collision at LeMans 2006 when someone pulled out like that. We were going too fast and the French driver that pulled out was just as stupid. Even this week 3 years down the line, I've just spent £4000 having smashed teeth replaced)

Are body panels available to repair accident damage like that to a Noble?

Christ, no wonder you're illiterate with views like that.

So we're now giving carte blanche to people to drive in a deadly manner so long as they do it slowly? Why wasn't the driver of the Clio done? What excuse has she got for not seeing a car in broad daylight? Was the Noble going so fast it had become invisible?

Yes, the driver of the Noble was a nob and was the architect of his own downfall, but so was the driver of the Clio, and she should be inside too.

The road safety issue in this country is becoming absolutely terrible. Speed is now the one and only issue, we're now free to do whatever we like so long as we don't speed. It's terrible.

couldnt disagree more... its very hard to judge the speed of a low car like ours at a distance coming towards you.
So either learn to read the road and thus expect people to potentially pull across and be prepared to slow or avoid... or dont speed.

End of the day in this case it appears he was driving at a dangerous speed and its implied they were road racing and they could have been jailed just for that... the fact that there was an accident that resulted in such terrible injuries just makes it worse.

No comment on the specific case but you do have to think like a motorbike rider and anticipate muppets when driving a Noble.

Well, it's news to me that low cars are hard to see, i've managed 30 years without ever having an issue with it.

I'm not defending the noble driver, not one jot, but the Clio driver didn't look properly and she should pay for her actions. The Noble simply couldn't have been that far away to cause that much damage, even at the ton you can bring the speed right down very quickly and take avoidance.

And don't give me 'road racing' either. Road racing is a proper sport which takes place largely outside of mainland Britain. They might have been mucking about, but lets not think of it in any other terms.

Clearly, the numpty view on road safety is winning the day.

Not going to comment on the who's at fault here, without knowing all the facts it's impossible to draw an accurate conclusion. However, I do agree with heebeegeetee's point that speed seems to be the only issue ever taken into account now, rather than road craft. Regardless, I think it's just as well to drive bearing in mind that there are plenty of idiots out there, many of whom have absolutely no concept of how quickly a Noble can go (and particularly accelerate).

The only gratifying thing to come out of this is that the Noble looks in remarkably good shape, for what was supposed to be such a big accident. Any idea how injured Joel Wharmby was?
