Took her out for a blat tonight nice warm evening get the windows down for some fresh air.
Err not a good idea gave her some real beans as roads were empty and i heard a pop behind me didn't take me long to work it out.
Sure enough both rear perspex windows broke the seals.
Top Tip above 50mph shut the windows and use the aircon.
Looks like there held in with sickaflex so a job for the weekend.

That's odd, I've had well into 3 figure speeds with windows down, or panels out or a combo Of both with no problems. I'll certainly keep a close check now though

They were obviously ready to drop out - best it happened local and not while blatting down a motorway in France or similar. This is not a problem that afflicts all cars, but it is reported from time to time.

At least it will give you chance to clean them properly. I've tried and tried to get mine clean, with no luck at all.

They are perspex so you need to use a proper acrylic polish.This stuff works

If you have deep scratches then use a very fine 'wet or dry' paper first.It will be a bit scary as the acrylic will go opaque with the W&D paper but don't worry-it will polish back to transparent.
Mind you tape up around the edges to rpotenct the paintwork .

Could be barking up the wrong tree but this sounds more like that when your car was being built they picked up the wrong tube gun by mistake when fitting the windows.

There are lots of different compounds used from sealant, silicone to mastik .... if they had 2+ similar looking compounds being used in the same place of the factory ... this would expalin why there have been a few cases but most are fine into 3 figures ... sillier things have happened in car plants I have worked in (mainstream OEM's), and having visited the factory .... I can see it happening.
