The timing seems very strange: also Dave Richards has been saying for a while that whilst he had been interested, the current uncertainties mean he will hold fire - so 2012 may not be out of the question, the suggestion of 'initially as Prodrive switching to Aston Martin after a couple of years' does not make sense.

To me the article appears to be a mixture of various rumours and stories about DR, AM and F1 over the last couple of years... (for instance the assumption about McLaren bits...)

If I remember, DR was just worried about the amount of money one would need to be competitive. The preliminary grumblings are that the cap will be 140M next year and 40 the following year after that. That would put his mind at ease. Also, there's a glut of talent out there that'd like to get back to work (ie cheap), and he wants to help sell some of his road-cars.
