I have had a bit of trouble with my Tuscan service bonnet fixings.

The service bonnet hinge consists of 2 bolts that screw into nuts that are fibre-glassed into each side of the car.

One of the nuts has forced its way through the bodywork (maybe has been previously overtightened)

I need to patch it up. I popped down Halfrauds and got some repair called Ispon for bumpers, thought it would do the job.

Unfortunately it has not worked. I need a product that can be easily applied will stick to the current fibreglass and be strong.

Can anyone recommend a product and where to get it from?

Cheers

Try some of the motorbike forums for some ideas.

I have used plasticweld in the past and think that should be good for fibreglass as well.

Partially melts the plastic and allows you to bond to the rear area. It should work on the resin and allow you to harden the matting when cooled.

Than a bigger washer kit to spread the load outside where it is at the moment.

Or.

Get some matting and resin and build up the area with new fibreglass.

Can you get some pics up. I had to do similar with a fibreglass boat that had pulled some bolts through the deck when moored.

Trying to envision this; you got a shot for us? I had one of the brass nuts that are bonded into the Griffy bonnet come adrift. I bonded that back in successfully with some JB Weld.

Better to bond with fibreglass and 300 matting or gauze rather than use any type of filler.
