Nice idea, useful for people like me who don't want to have Sky but may occassionally want to watch a particular game of football or something.

Then again, it might speed servers up.

If 10% of all users are watching TV instead of gaming then they're only going to be downloading and, other than Party Chats, not uploading game info and bogging down the servers. Possibly.

Good point, although it depends on the programme downloads and how bandwidth hungry the streaming is. Sky will more than likely push HD coverage as well, seeing as the Xbox is capable of doing so. Although i would have thought Microsoft would at least up server-availability to cope with increased media streaming and downloads... They better do if i'm going to continue paying for Gold Membership.

I'm also wondering whether they will introduce the same kinds of packages they do with the TV deals? I'd quite like it if the programmes you want to watch or missed on TV/sports were pay-per-view in some way, as i don't fancy signing myself up to Sky through the Xbox and paying a monthly fee when i'm already paying for Gold membership.

Going to make things interesting for coverage also, I have two Xbox's one at home and one at the G/Fs, if I just need to sign onto XBL to use sky might be a better deal than getting sky itself.

It will be interesting to see the new pricing structure for the services - will Gold members get a decent amount of stuff, or will you have to sign up with Sky to access more content?

Cant say i'm fussed, pricing will probably similar to the movies you can download now, which i dont use anyway. Cant see a subscription service being popular.
