Hello All,

I've got a 2001 Y reg ST200 that's only done 56,000 miles and is in top condition so don't want to get rid of it, problem is I need Cruise Control for long trips because of a bad knee.

I'm in the process of getting a used C/C kit fitted from a Mk2 V6 Ghia X Mondeo because others have reported to have done this on lesser models.

I've got 2 questions:

1. Anybody done this before/know anybody that has (Any problems/how easy to do)

2. I don't believe it myself that you can directly fit the steering wheel from a Mondeo Mk3 to a Mk2, I don't like the look of the Cruise Control wheel for the Mk2 I have got

Any feedback would be good
Thanks

I had a Ghia X V6, and now an ST TDCI. Both had cruise control.

I don't know if the mk3 wheel would go into a mk2 (and it could look a little funny) but having used the wheel controls in both, the buttons are far easier in the mk2.

In the mk2, it is easy to tell which is which for set, + (which is the same button), -, and resume.

The mk3 has exactly the same system, but the buttons are not as easy to feel. In the mk2, the buttons have convex or concave shapes, whereas in the mk3 there are just little ridges.

Its a highish mileage example on Autotrader, but here is the mk2:

The mk3:

I know the mk3 looks better, but I maintain the mk2 was far easier to use, especially at night. That said, I got used to it, but so I should do! I have done 70k in it.

I used to have a Mondeo 2.0 Ghia X Auto with Cruise Control and it was so good for long runs or just for the fact I can move my leg about and not be stuck in one postion.

Yep I don't think a Mark 3 wheel would fit on a Mark 2
