My mate owns HiQ tyres at Ravensthorpe. You could give him a buzz. Ask for Chris.

Or Link Tyre Sales at the Fir Cottage end of Ravensthorpe definately do it.

All Tyres Fitted at Sherburn - 01977 684555

Came recommended to me on here so passing it on. They won't make a mess of your alloys either.

All Kwik-Fits will fit third party tyres, but the price is up to the manager. One quoted me £7:50 per wheel for an on-and-off-and-balance with them disposing of the old tyre: the next one wanted £20 per corner...

I didnt use to pay over £5 per corner, but £7 seems to be the very cheapest now.

The only good thing to say about Kwik Fit. They removed a tyre off a cracked rim and fitted onto a new wheel for the Vette. No charge.

My local ATS are always friendly and helpful. They charge me around £20 for removing the 4 tyres from a set of rims and refitting once the rims have been refurbished, etc. Their machines are the latest, with plastic guide wheels to avoid wheel damage.
They have also proven to be the most accurate at setting tracking.
However, I suspect I may have just hit it lucky with a decent branch!
My local Kwik Fit are not so clever when it comes to tyre changing. However, they seem decent at recharging Air Con. Mainly because they just attach the automated machine and let the machine do the job. If a fault occurs, then its best to quickly take the car and leave. Theres no charge if the re-charge fails (if you pardon the pun...).

Thanks for all advise guys, i was going to do hiQ in ravi as suggested
but was stuck for time so went somewhere nearer to work in Leeds......

ATS gave me there excuses for not doing it, even though I told em my
other company car was on account with them !! went over the road to a kwik
fit and they did it no problem, nice friendly chap cost 10 a corner
and had a laugh with him because he had no idea what the 888,s were off!

In my experience most of the Kwikfit guys are friendly and helpful, given the right approach. I've used them all over the north east. They're normally petrolheads like the rest of us. smile

The manager at their Thornaby branch was only too delighted to check the rear hub nuts on the Wedge for me (230ft lbs) free of charge, and just asked to have his photo taken with the car.

In the past they've also customised exhausts for me, and re-welded one that I had dragged right off a low-slung kit car I owned.

Because of this I put plenty of business their way from my daily drivers.
