Have a problem with the top shoulder seatbelt guides. The flat bar with the slot that the belt goes through.
Sometimes it moves round and catches on the rear roof hoop when I'm lowering it. Digging into the vynil. Have had a look and there seems to be a red washer under it with a bent piece forming a stop.

Has any one else had the same problem and got a fix?

Loosen the bolt then turn the stop so that the seatbelt guide can't touch the hood loop. Oh, and don't forget to tighten the bolt.

Somebody used to supply a part to alleviate this problem, try Leven, it may have been them.

Alternatively look at http://www.tvrsseries.com/ under seat Belt Modification.

Alan

I can show you the "fix" referred to ... ie the fitting that turns the bracket through 90 degrees so take a close look this weekend. Some have doubts about the integrity of this mod and if it would stand up to crash conditions so its a decision not to be taken lightly to fit one. I reckon as a 50+ old 16 stone bloke travelling at speed in a 20 year old plastic car, this new fitting will be fairly low down on my list of worries if I ever come to a sudden stop :gulp: there is also an insurance issue to consider though regarding modifications...

I tend to agree with Ketvrin on this, if I hit anything hard enough to snap this bolt then I would be suprised if there would be anything left of the rest of the car or me anyway, but it is a consideration.

It would deffinatly have to be refferd to the insurance company I did look into getting a pair made spoke to a couple of local companies and both declined to make them when they realised the purpose. So I took the advice and binned the idea.

Make sure you get the machine shop to drill and tap the holes for the bolt, Stainless is a sod drill & tap, When I had mine done I forgot to ask them to do that bit.
