The indicator light on my dashboard is intermittant - but I dont mind that.
The problem is that my hazards sometimes come on without warning and I am driving down the road oblivious. The hazard switch to turn them on is not illuminating under fault either - although it works correctly when you actually turn them on.
Any pointers please?

As far as I am aware this has not happened at all today - but I noticed it happen twice yesterday after pulling up at a junction and hearing the tick tick of the indicators.
I dont think it could be a sticky relay because it happens without me turning on the indicators.

I had this in a sierra - but it was a faulty switch that used to pop up on its own as if you had turned them on.
I'd try a substitute switch first I think - I'm sure someone here on the forum will have one you can borrow.

I have very similar problem on my Chim from time to time.
I believe the problem is the alarm/imob. getting out of sync.
Stopping, setting the alarm and unsetting seems to clear the problem.
I think (but not sure) it is caused when the imob kicks in if I dont turn the ignition on soon enough after unlocking.
Now I always ensure alarm and imob indicators are in sync before starting.

Apologies if this doesn't apply to the S, but thought I would put in my 2p in case it helps.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I did wonder about the alarm/imob. When it happened outside a friends front door we were shaking wires about tryng to isolate the problem. It kept happenning then stopping then happenning over again. At the time I put it down to the ignition light not being off as I had not revved the engine yet.
The next time it happened I was driving though.
I have never used the alarm and I thought it had been removed because I can see brackets for it but no alarm unit.
