"secret life of the airport" BBC4 documentary
Discussion
quick heads up: BBC4 have been advertising this as comming soon:
"A social history of how airports came into being, the series is also an affectionate and entertaining look at how we got used to living with them and the ways in which they changed us"
Some lovely images showing how the airports wre built, period images etc.
Interestingly I remember as a young boy in the early 80s boarding a 727 via the rear steps and waving to a film crew at Gatwick. I wonder.....

Looking forward to this. I presume it will be in a similar format to "The Secret Life of the Motorway" - which was very good.
THIS is why we need the BBC - they are very good at coming up with these types of idiosynchratic - but clever - documentaries.
Indeed, same crew making it IIRCTHIS is why we need the BBC - they are very good at coming up with these types of idiosynchratic - but clever - documentaries.
