Given The viewers Primeval has been raking in for ITV why delay the last episode?? It has ramped up a following second only to "Doctor Who" and has Kicked "Robin Hood's" backside whenever they clash. The Introduction of new characters and the removal of old has been dealt with very well and it is attracting a good calibre of replacements. Now a US spin-off is mooted along with a Film. So long as they keep the "play book" and run with it it looks like being the most successful ITV drama show for a long while.

Wasn't it delayed to show the longer final of "Britain's got more cash to give to Simon Cowell's new yacht fund show"?

It does have some appeal. But, mostly that is Hannah in her skimpies, IMO. The CGI is okay, the plotlines okay, but the rather annoying plot device student has been allowed to 'grow up' only to be replaced with another one.

And, frankly, the latest Robin Hood isn't up to much, though I quite like the sheriff.

No she hasn't uncovered again, the Hannah in her pants side-story has sadly ended.

I enjoyed the first series (in an unchallenging, easy and entertaining viewing way) but this series has just got progressively worse. They just seem to be making up any old crap they like with no attempt at realism or actual plausible scenarios and no cohesive plotlines etc.

It's basically turned really crap, which is a shame as people fighting dinosaurs whilst hot girl stands in pants was a winning formula.

what happened after the artifact was taken with the bird with the hologram disguise?

what was the artifact?

where did the bird get that device which opens portals?

who has been replaced?

I got up to were a character went through the portal with dodgy bird and then the portal disappeared, reopened and she jumped back through to be clawed back via an animal.

What have I missed?

Dinosaurs for the kids, Hannah for the dads. Although they have gone all out this series employing the additional services of Laila Rouass.

She headed to the other birds HQ and jumped thru the anomaly she had back to the future

what was the artifact?

A Map of the anomalies

where did the bird get that device which opens portals?

Helen Cutter would have found it in the future. She has been moving thru the anomalies at will since season one

who has been replaced?

Nick Cutter,(Douglas Henshall) was killed by Helen two episodes back. As such Danny Quinn played by Jason Fleming Replaced him. Laila Rouass has joined as Sarah Page and Claudia Brown/Jenny Lewis(Lucy Brown) Left after Cutter was killed.

I got up to were a character went through the portal with dodgy bird and then the portal disappeared, reopened and she jumped back through to be clawed back via an animal.

A lot by the sound of it!! The animal is a "future Predator" that was introduced in Season two. Vicious and deadly. The Character was the Head of a rival to the ARC or "Anamoly Research Centre" trying to use the anomalies for military purposes. Helen Cutter identified her as the "trigger" to the disaster that leads to the desolate future earth. Rather gutting as She thought it was Nick Cutter so killed him.

There is a Hollywood Movie in development as well as a US spin off. The way that time operates in "Primeval" also means that the previously "lost" characters could be retrieved. This has already been done by Helen Cutter with Sciswell who is her "foot" soldier. He appears several times in the current series and he appears to have been "cloned". It isn't clear whether this is due to Biological cloning or He has been taken from the time line several times.

freeview does it in bits and bats.... much like Doctor who, supernatural and smallville... they just show them in the order that they want to show them rather than the correct order to help normal people watch them.

Good end to the series finally!!! Helen's plans thwarted, Connor and Abbey have a way out and hopefully so does Danny. However Helen did manage to kill some of the ancestors so how will that leave the Future???

Shirley they were the dead 13 that was being discussed by the 3 of them before Danny jumped through

If that is the case how would the Raptor and Helens bodies/fossils be explained away in the future !!

I assume Danny will encourage the first humans to evolve quickly by teaching them to play scrabble. Once they get past "crzjyldwic" and on to "What do you get if you multiply six by nine?", the next series should be interesting.

I enjoyed tonights opener to season 4, roll on tomorrow night.

Also it's wise to watch the tasters on the ITV website. They serve as a prequel
to this season and explain (sort of) what happened in between seasons 3 and 4.

It seems that Sarah Page/Laila Rouass was killed during a search & rescue attempt for
Abby, Connor and Danny.
