Anyone going to see this? Just watched it online and will definitely be going to the cinema next week.

Not a patch on the first two but its good to see what happens after judgement day.

7/10

With 'McG' in the Directors seat? As if someone who was responsible for the pieces of st that were the Charlie's Angels movies and We Are Marshall wasn't bad enough this is someone who disastrously tried to remake 'Spaced' without even deigning to consult Simon Pegg.
Wouldn't touch it with the sttiest most pestilent stick....

You what?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this, saving it for the cinema visit. Hoping that Christian "I'm mental" Bale can pull out one of his Machinisst/American Psycho standard performances.

Terminator Salvation aka Terminator Unsalvagable

By all accounts it's fine as a mind-off action flick, but a complete disaster when it comes to the franchise. It's already flopped stateside and I'll not be bothering...

i'd like to think that he's done the right thing by totally ignoring the 3rd one. Lets just pretend it didn't happen.

Although in it's tiny defense the final few minutes of the third film I thought were tone perfect. The realization that judgement day was indeed inevitable.

Mind you, films that don't have happy endings are often nice to see.

It's on tonight. I was good, but T2 was by far and a way the best.

I'll be going to see it but I won't get my hopes up. I hope it's going to be at least in keeping with the first two but the fact that's it's been given a 12a rating it wont be as good as I'd like

I cant remember the last violent 18 or 15 film that came out, all 18s are just due to sexual content now. Film makers are dumbing down to a younger audience just to maximise income

I think Rambo was the last film of the old franchises that held true to itself in the ultra violence. Film makers just want to cash in so pitch it at the lowest feasible audience (12a) when they should be doing things properly aiing it at the adult audience, and leaving the kids to beg borrow or steal (well maybe not) a copy when it hits rental. I remember doing just that when the older films like T2 Universal SOldier etc came out.

Rambo... no sex in that, just lots and lots of lovely violence.

Terminator 3 was a big pile of steamin dog st made that way thanks to a couple of things:

1: Putting comedy elements in, it's not a kids film nor is it a fookin comedy!

2: Female Terminator was just stE. Looked and sounded daft!!!!!

3: didn't show enough of the machines playing destructo with the planet

The last 45 mins of the film are bloody good though and yeah, the realisation felt genuine and poignant.

I'm looking forward to Salvation

Apparently the action scene's are fking amazing in Terminator Salvation but the story line is pants.
I'm a massive fan of the Terminator series. Number one was fantastic and by far the best of the lot, Two was good but started getting a bit soft and really lacked that scary, horror element and moved towards action. Three was almost bi-curious! The effects and content were good but the script really was to stupid with way too much humour thrown in.

Looking forward to salvation. Anything with the war is good, though it has already been said by numerous people involved that to fully appreciate the film that you need to wait for the directors cut to be released. A lot of the story expanding parts were left on the editing room floor due to time constraints.
