Has anyone here hired a caterham 7 from the Perth based company www.openroadhire.co.uk

For £200 per day, you have a choice of two cars, a K series 120hp or a Ford sigma 150hp SV. Given that you can't walk in to your local caterham showroom for a test drive.

It's sound like a good day out to me..

Did it last year. We took the red SV up to Applecross via the Wester Ross route and Ullapool. Stayed in the B&B then came back to Perth via the West Coast. Paid a bit extra for mileage charges but worth it. The drive back to Aberdeen in the Elise felt like luxury wink

The owner Andrew seemed a real gent - I think he's had to put his prices up a little to cover costs this year but still worth it I reckon. The first time we had booked, the weather was horrible a few days before - we phoned up and postponed without any issue. thumbup

Do it!! I hired a Classic off of Andrew at Openhire about 3 weeks ago; it was simply the best thing I've done in my driving life biggrin

Edit to say: He's actually reduced his prices since 3 weeks ago! A 3 day hire was £200 a day; £180 is almost a bargan for what you're getting.
