Help please. I've got three relays hanging off cables in the passenger footwell - red, black and yellow with matching sockets. I've worked out from the wiring diagram that red is for the injectors, yellow the fuel pump, but what is the black one for?

I've ordered a new red one, the old one is a bit rusty, from the local Ford dealer, part 85BG6911AA, they tell me its a gearbox selector relay for a Sierra. Hmmm, well here's hoping that its not two wasted journeys and 16 quid down the pan!

I dont have a black one... not a relay anyway, I do have a black connection for the diagnostic plug but I guess thats not what you are describing as its smaller than a relay...

Nope, I've found the diag plug and one or two other free sockets but this one is definitely a relay. Same size as the other two but with no makers markings on it, just a schematic of its insides, its got 5 pins. Can't find a relay on the schematic with wiring colours that match; blk/wht, blk/yel, red, org, gry.

Good thinking Kevin and thanks, I'll check that out once I've got the thing back together.
