I'm in a perpetual state of indecisive flux about this....

OK, so the idea is to spec my 06 Enduro to be suitable for the mega, at the more lightweight end of the spectrum. Because lets face it, no matter what I do the boys on the big rigs will be burning me up on the initial descents.

With those thoughts in mind was thinking of going 2.35 dual ply Minion up front and High Roller on the rear. (with an outside niggling idea of Minion fronts front and rear like the kids in Whister run). With my weight (i.e. not much) 2.5 tires are just going to be useless on the snow i reckon and i dont ride hard enough to merit them anyway.

But do you think it should be 60a or supertacky?

help!

I'll be running 2.35 Maxxis High Rollers. Super tacky up front 60a on the rear.

wot mk1fan said. not sure it's the best choice but i'd feel more confident with super tacky on front.

All I know is you want as big as you can dare. You want a harder compound on the rear, but to be honest a new set will be wrecked by the end of the week. Dual ply obviously. I'd recommend at LEAST 2.5 width - those rocks are pointy, and with 400 other riders in your way, you take some interesting routes, never mind the fact you have massive boulder fields to ride.

Any tyres on snow are ste.

Any riders getting punctures due to inadequate tyrage will be stabbed in the eyes. Trust me when I say that after the 3rd stop on a run waiting for someone with a puncture you soon look for ways of quickly killing people...

Minion up front, High Roller rear for the tread blocks required in the forests and damper sections. Minions only work on the rear in Whis due to the fact its always dry out there.

Moon, I told you all this wink

I am riding these http://www.wtb.com/products/tires/dhfr/timberwolf/ at the moment and they are very good tyres. Amazing amounts of grip, more then my minions. Dont rule out Intense as well they make some very good tyres.
