house sale - safe place for equity?

Mindful that this is not an finance website, but you lot tend to have pretty good ideas....

Mrs & I are just about (touch wood) to sell our house and once everything is paid off we whould have a reasonable wedge which we need to put somewhere safe....

We're switching into rental, so we dont need this for a deposit the new place.

So, where to safely house a chunk of money for a couple of years or so?

anyone dabbled with Zopa?

Bonds?

buy-to-let?

Zopa have stopped all new P2P investment and are returning all existing investments to customers this month. so that option is off the table.
