This not for humour. You know that some people survived that terrible moment just because of their height, or because they may have been reaching down to perhaps do up there shoe laces or get a sandwich from their bag. Respect, please....

I read the book about 1955 Le Mans some 20 - 25 years ago, Death Race I think it was called!!

Very moving, even for a teenager at the time!!

I have researched this accident in depth and spent a lot of time with people who were there and witnessed the terrible scene. I was shown once the photo of a man with his headless child on his shoulders. I never want to see that photo again and if the intention here was to make a joke of 82 dead, countless injured and burned besides, then I find it in extremely poor taste. Just go and watch the Hillsborough video 20 times to amuse yourself, but don't come back here.

Death Race, Le Mans 1955, by Mark Kahn, have it on my bookshelf, very good book about the whole incident, and yes very moving.
