Anyone here get discounts on Genuine Merc parts?
Discussion
Need a new wiring loom 140 540 1132 circa £480 inc vat from Merc Leeds or Harrogate.
Wondered if anyone could get one cheaper with a trade discount etc.
Cars only worth £1-1.5k really. All the wirings insulation has cracked and the wires are shorting so you can't really drive it anywhere especially when warm. It either needs this part and will hopefully be ok apart from this, or gets scrapped and cant really afford something else at the moment.

I have got 10% member discount before just by saying I was a Club member - even though I wasn't. Especially if you order over the phone and pay by card at the time - they don't check. That brings the price down to £430.
I guess you were hoping for more - that would be real 'trade' links.

Hi there, thanks for replying.
We ordered the part from a merc dealer in the end rather than have the car sat around, one specialist was a few £ cheaper before VAT but that was it, so we just went with the main dealer. They knocked off circa 10% which brought it down to £421 without asking about it which was nice. We just had to wait an extra day for it to arrive on 2 day rather than one day delivery to the dealership, otherwise they couldn't offer the discount but for a £40+ saving it was worth waiting the extra day.
Took an hour or so to fit, then a bit of messing about and some driving for it to learn and it seems to be ok for now. So a barge saved for a bit longer.
Thanks for the info though.
