Just received this email in response to the advert for my car. I know its a scam somewhere but how, if they give me the money before I give them the car??

This is the mail;

Hello,
The pictures you asked me to look up on the website are okay,i am willing to pay £21,800.00 and i hope this is acceptable to you.I have contacted an auto shipper in the United Kingdom who will handle the inspection,pick-up and shipping of the car to me,his name is Mr Frank Thomas and his mobile no:+447024014924 .
The payment will be made to you with a bankers draft drawn from a United Kingdom Bank,you should deposit the cheque on a fast payment/clearance scheme so the funds can be available to you in 24hrs max(any extra cost for this to be done will be borne solely by myself) .
If this arrangement suits you get back to me promptly.

Best Regards'

Peter................

Most likely, that they don't want the car.

They'll 'overpay' you & ask you to 'Western Union' the difference to their friend that they owe money to.

this is 100% a scam - its pretty well known by the Met Police.

For some weird reason banks credit your account before the cash has truly cleared, so you happily hand over your pride and joy and then the banks reverse the credit because it was a fraud. And you signed over your car to a thief.

Walk away my friend.

Would the bank let you draw against it ?

On a totally unrelated issue.... Is there any extradition treaty with Thailand ?

I think Gary Glitter would confirm this legal arrangement.

No they didnt, when i tried to, they said the draft was canceled or something, i dont exactly remember their explanation as it was about 5 years ago. I assume now with online banking if someone did draw the money immidiately they would ask for it back

So here's another one - If i give them my bank details and they TT the money into my account there is surely no way once I've taken it out they could get it back.

On another note I replied to the email from the other guy, not politly and haven't had a response!!!

Here goes;

Thanks for your prompt response, I relay to mine about what you have in your store and also tell him about your CERBERA which is very much interested in buying it.And his ready to pay you via bank to bank wire transfer to your nominated account.So i will like you to get back with your full banking information for the transfer to take place in your account.

Here it's the full banking information needed to transfer the money into your account.

YOUR BANK FULL NAME:
YOUR BANK FULL ADDRESS:
CITY, STATE, ZIP CODE & COUNTRY
YOUR BANK TELEPHONE NUMBER & FAX NUMBER:
ACCOUNT NAME:
ACCOUNT NUMBER:
SWFIT CODE/ IBAN NUMBER:
YOUR DIRECT CONTACT NUMBER

With all this information my client bank can be able to transferred the money into your nominated account.Also i don't want you to not worry about the shipment of the item because mine client relay to me he will arrange for that as soon as the money hit account.If you are satisfied with this arrangement kindly get back with the information requested for the transfer to take place in your account.

Thanks for your co-operation and understanding. Looking forward to hear from you.
