To try and stop myself splashing out on another TVR I bought myself a fun summer roadster. A 04 plate BMW Z4 3.0 manual. Its the only 'roadster' I fitted in properly (I did try a Boxster). Certainly is a lot quicker than I was expecting with a peachy straight six. Love the roof, and I'm coming to terms with the nose styling ;-) 221G CO means low(sih) road tax too. It even has a Sport button like my Panda (to be left turned on).
(This is not that I dislike TVRs, but after 11 years of TVRs I thought I should try something else for a change). I toyed with Audi R8s (too wide, horrid clutch rest/pedal arrangement), Aston V8s (needs to be a 4.7 - too new, no more reliable than a TVR), Maserati Gran Turismo (OK, more of a GT - but the sound... 90k for a 4.7S - I'll wait 2 years!).

The downside is you will get bored fairly soon as they are very common , don't sound anything like a Tiv and you never get frightened , no character ! Edited to add: Driving along today, talking with the Mrs about what to change the Z4 for, she likes the BMW, but isn't overwhelmed either - between the two we both prefer our 2006 Golf GTi overall. I mentioned TVRs again, she groaned but accepted fate ... (don't worry, she will let me buy any car I like, but its nice to see what she thinks, she falls asleep in the TVR more easily anyway...)

I have not sinned... yet, but my youngest daughter is making me wonder, as to where I went wrong. I have my V8 Taimar that gives me my TVR grin. My Spousal Unit has her V8 Taimar that gives me a TVR grin. My 18 year old daughter has her supercharged 2500M that also gives me a TVR grin. My youngest daughter hasn't seen the light yet and wants aPorsha or a Z4.
My deal with the girls was that I would match their downpayment on the first car that they bought on their own. Well my oldest one was smart enough to make the best of this arrangement and decided to pay for her car in full and have no outstanding loan on her car. The sinning will be when the younger one does the same and shops for aPorsha or a Z4 and I have to go good on my word and match her downpayment. I already did my 100 "Hail TVRs" and now wonder if 100 "Hail TreVoRs" might help or try working on getting the younger daughter to try to see the light. This Saturday, I have been given track time and wonder if this may help her come back to our side. Or should I just try to live with her choice and admit that I also have sinned?????

Oldest daughter spent 3 days picking out the right helmet for trackday on Saturday, but, it is pink. I think she picked that one just to play with my mind.
IMO the youngest daughter should have that helmet and then she could also look at MX5s (Miatas here) with the other 2 types of cars.
