hot blower not working, any tips

my cold fans are running but the hot ones arent, no sound or thud etc at all,
Ive checked the fuses and all are ok.
I previously had the hot fan/ blower box out and hooked it up to 12v and it all worked fine.(i pulled it out as i had weak hot air and a wierd wurring noise when the hot fans were on so wanted to take the box out to make sure it wasnt cloged with leaves etc it ended up being pretty clean and i found no reason for it to be weak or make this noise)
Prior to me pulling the car apart the fans worked then stopped for a few days, then miracuously started again. But now the car is back together they do not work at all.
has the solenoid on the ducting in the passenger side foot well/dash board got to be at a certain point to switch the 12v onto the hot fan blower?
What can I do, what can I check , what could be the cause?
