Some of my airshow pics are going to be printed, framed and displayed in an aerodrome shortly, but the chap who's doing it, and I, are wondering about pricing for selling them to customers/visitors.

We're not talking limited editions or anything at this stage, and they'll generally be A4 with possibly the odd A3. Sold as either just regular copies, or with the frame off the wall at a slightly higher price to compensate.

Any thoughts?

(how long is a piece of string? biggrin)

probably not much help as I have no experience in this, but as you're not going into ltd editions i would probably price them at what i would want to pay for them (if I had an interest in that sort of thing). and obviously make sure the figure is higher than what it costs! (also note frames generally don't come in a4/a3 format sizes, more like 20"x16" or 12"x8" etc.)

i should think a reasonable price would be £10-15 for an a4 print, £15-25 for a3? also leaves some space for doing limited/signed runs at £50-75 if you wish to in the future.

I would suggest that you start the price high and then lower it. If the picture is good then i suppose people would pay upwards of one hundred pounds for an A3 print.

Why not look at some airplane photographic websites and see how much they are selling prints for and then make a call where you want to position yourself

No idea... I'm selling A4's with a mount for £15 in the local craft shop. Doesn't sound like a lot, but they only cost me £1.50 (inc. mount and selophane cover). On Photobox I am selling A2 for £30 (no mount or frame).

I've sold framed 'limited & signed' A4 photos before for £60. Didn't sell many though, as I have the wrong name!

Adolph Hitler would clean up.
