Sorry to start a new thread, but i did'nt want this to get lost
in the other thread, as i feel it is quite important.

Can someone fit their roof without the catches, give the roof a bit
of a tug, backwards/upwards at the same time, i done this on mine,
passenger side to simulate (ish) driving, and out rigger flexing, ie, going over a speed ramp, and the panel came off in my hand.yikes

Is this normal, it does'nt happen with the catches locked.

Ps, don't damage your car, while doing this.

I think you have identified why the catches were fitted to later models!

There's also the issue that when you go at, ahem, 71mph the air pressure can force the panels out.

Go on Chris, go and try it, you know you want to. See if yous is the same, then it'll give the rest a warning to fit them catches.

Or anyone else want to try it.

My roof is clamped solidly by the stuts only, although catches are fitted you can't move it without cracking the struts
