I need a bag to take to work as I've got too many bits and bobs to stuff in my pockets when I'm not wearing a jacket(Ipod, phones, big bunch of keys, wallet etc...).

So what's acceptable in this day and age and what should I avoid like the plague? Are the messenger style bags OK?

Why does it matter what other people think is acceptable? are you insecure? If not then why does it matter what people think? Just buy which ever fits the bill.

My girlfriend just bought me one, I was going to use it mostly for travelling as a carry on bag but it is bloody useful, I like you carry work and home keys, digital camera, sunglasses etc. I've got a canvas bag that looks a bit like a messenger bag.

I have a laptop bag for work but LowePro do some nice bags. Most are geared to photographers but they do some nice 'normal' ones.

Problem with that is some scrote will try and nick it thinking it is a laptop and be disappointed to find your keys and lunch.

My laptop bag doesn't even look like a laptop bag for that reason.

I left mine on the train once and someone handed it in to lost property at Waterloo. There are some decent people still!

Jesus wept.

Use your fking pockets like us men have done for hundreds of sodding years or failing that get your mrs to carry things.

Do you wear a pink shirt, advocate male grooming, have "tribal tattoo" and use moisturiser as well you utter shandy drinking fairy?

Why not go to the gym before/after work then use a pocket in your gym bag? Otherwise people might think you are a German tourist

Exactly.

I've used one for the last 6 or 7 years (leather, but not Prada) and it's massively useful and highly recommended.

Did you have matching shoes or was it a more casual affair?

Whilst I did spot the wink on your post I do think you doth protest too much, I wear pink shirts from time to time, have even driven a pink Boxster to BTaP, and am happily straight. I don't feel the need to emphasise my manliness as I am confident in myself.

GT, out of interest do you own a "hard" dog?
