Went Topless last night

Well after 5 years of ownership we decided to take the top off for the 3rd time and headed out towards Bala, nearly getting chocked to death at the A5 turn off when a smelly 4x4 diesel had right of way and had to slot in behind 
but not for long 
.
Still totally unsure of this experience, need the good weather to continue to try it again, an ongoing sage I think.

I was once getting my window fixed on my Bobby Ewing Merc 500SL and the guys there told me that they had a woman in the week before. She had an immaculate 1988 300SL which she had bought from new and had some problem with it.
They explained to her that they'd have to take the hardtop off to do the work and did she have the release key. She looked at them blankly...
After a bit of rummaging around they found the roof key & to her amazement took off the hardtop.

She didn't realise it was a convertible !!!!!
The soft top underneath was totally sh@gged though.

I drive mine all year round with the roof off (wasting space in the boot) it only goes on if its raining!
I've even had the roof off in the snow, and I have the proof!...the Police were Soooo impressed they sent me a photograph for my scrap album...along with a bl@@dy summons

I don't even carry the roof piece with me 90% of the time..... if it rains it rains... its not an issue. I've been on many a run with no roof section at all
The speed you go Hoover the rain does not get a chance to get in the car. I've followed you a few times on run-ins
