AIS is great isn't it?

There's a good website detailing the Solent based on the same tech.

another one is http://www.shipais.com/ has a search function that is very good.
only covers western Europe at the moment, but have a look at Dover area the number of ships is amazing.

yes This is the one we use in work to know what's due in and out. I like it because it plots the path according to the speed.

Another we use is http://www.aislive.com/index.aspx, but a subscription is required for that one.
