Noise Test - BMW E36 Evo - AC Schnitzer Exhaust
Discussion
Hi,
I was in the process of booking a track day, and just realised I might have a problem. My car has the twin DTM upswept AC Schnitzer exhaust on it (fitted at factory I think before it was copied by all the chavs).
So doesn anyone have any experience of how likely it will be to fail? It is really quite loud. If buying my car again I am not sure I would buy one with it, although for normal B road blasting with the hood down 4 up it has a great sound. Subtle in built up areas it is not!
Any ideas? I am thinkking of going to a taster session for £25 from MSV and see if it gets through in Bedford, which I know is the quietest but at least I will get a reading?
PS. I think noise limits are stupid! Like the people who live near Heathrow, don't move there! Its not like it was just built!

I was concerned that the level was too much on my e36 and so swapped the back box over to, ironically, an AC Schnitzer back box. To my amazement, once we removed the Supersprint back box, we found that a flap had been cut into the top of the box and the innards removed and then re-welded ( no wonder it made 102db @ Goodwood
). Now with the AC back box on it is much quieter and I am sure it will not pose a problem
