Oulton Park 09 - Carl Breeze - Mark Proctor Crash - My pics

My pics of the horrific crash in the G50's at Oulton Park on Sunday 31st May.
The Marshalls, rescue crew, doctors paramedics did a fantastic job. Hopefully both drivers are doing well and making a swift recovery.
The impact must have been at over 100mph, looking at the G50's afterwards it shows just how strong the G50 racecars are.

Not good posting accident pics like these. Clearly people were injured and i'm not sure i would want my pics posted on the net in such circumstances.
Would you take photos of a motorway pile up and post them up?

Hardly shows injured parties!

Only shows what a great job the stewards/docs did at the scene.

I think it is fine, let's learn a lesson from it and keep the responses professional.

Vehicles did their job too in minimising driver injury

I agree with both points above. its good to see that the cars are built to withstand the impact but I wouldnt be happy to have pictures of my family/friends on there in the circumstances or pics of people still stuck in the car or on stretchers.
a little more discretion in these situations would be good

I can also see both points of view, in some ways maybe photos like these should not be posted on the net but on the other hand, I find it very interesting to see what the controlled chaos of something like that looks like from the spectators point of view (I was driving the second ambulance (not rescue) that took Mark Proctor back to the med centre and have my back to the camera in pic 18)

If it is OK I will print out these photos and take them with me to Oulton Park tomorrow for the medical team to look at as we quite often don't get to see photos like these

As a driver I would be fine with pictures of the car and the accident itself if I had a serious accident like that, but I would be very unhappy with pictures of myself on a stretcher posted on the internet without my permission.

I wouldn't want to be seen like that, nor would I want my family to see those pictures, and being on a website like this they will almost certainly appear on a google image search of the drivers names

Up until yesterday Carl Breeze was OK, apparently a little sore but racing at Croft with a fantastic result in race 1. In race 2 he made a really spectacular exit from the circuit at Barcroft bend, narrowly missing the marshalls position ploughing backwards into an adjacent field. Pretty sure he was OK though as there was no red flag to get the doctor over there. It looked like he may have had a spectacular nearside tyre blowout from where I was standing.

they were both interviewed at Croft. Mark Procter was there with a full platic body cast, but he was standing up and walking around... No more racing for him though.. As the risk of another shunt even a minor one compounding the damage is too great for what is only a hobby if a very serious one... which is sad to hear but understandable.. a real wrench for any racer though... I too wish him a full recovery..

As to the pic's well if the people involved or their families come across them and dont like them then yes they should be taken down, but as a driver myself i find them reasuring to see the care and approach of the recovery and medical crews, and get an insight into what happens if it all goes pear shaped...and also a timely reminder that what we do is a dangerouse sport!!!! take care out there peeps..

I dont think there is an issue putting these up, it's a reminder to those that race that it can be dangerous and people do get hurt. i dont think it is the same as posting up pictures of a motorway crash. anyway if you don't like it or don't agree with it don't look at them, simple.

Persoanlly its a welcome reminder not to take anything for granted after a weekends racing....
