Meeting a lady for coffee on Saturday. Will probably be in Leeds city centre. Where's best to go? Will Starbucks be acceptable to a lady whom one is trying to impress or is there some epically mega coffee-serving utopia that I should know about? We're trying to keep it un-pressured and fun for the first date, so nothing to posh and stuffy, but is there anywhere I should know about that will blow her away?

cafe nero coffee is way better than that insipid starbucks cr**, slightly better places to sit in to. Alternatively could try the one in the victoria arcade near harvey nicks.

PS She got any fit single mates?!!

Well if the weather is still good any with the outside seating should be a winner. Alternatively you could have Wetherspoon's coffee on the veranda at Millennium Square, it could lead to alcohol later and more wink

Afternoon tea at the Fourth Floor in Harvey Nichols? The other coffee place outside the side door in the Victoria Quarter? Posh but not too formal or stuffy IMO, more of a treat than something you have to earn.

Quebecs do a champagne afternoon tea too but that might all be a bit "showy" so ignore me.

The Corn Exchange?

Arts Cafe on Call Lane?
