shaved pussy - not always fun
Discussion
Sorry, suckered in by the double entendre...
After being out all day our cat came limping home earlier this evening quite badly, with a very wonky looking leg. He's a chincilla persian which means he's a fluffy little sod. Normally looks something like this...

But, summer's upon us and the furry little terminator is damn near feral, out all hours doing whatever it is he does, which means lots of matted fur, always fun with a cat that has claws which would have freddy krueger reaching for the health and safety manual, who hates being brushed. Not my job I hasten to add.
Anyway, thinking he'd broke his leg or something an out of hours visit to the vet seemed sensible. Cue a carbon re-run of Mr. E's taking the cat to the vets thread. Arrive at the vets at around 9pm, to be told it's not broken. A quick thermometer up the balloon knot and a somewhat startled expression on the cat's face and it seems he has a bit of a temperature, understandable, he was probably raging at the size of the thermometer, I'm sure it was actually intended for use on horses.
Long story short, she said he'd have to have a small area of his leg shaved too see if it was an abscess, a puncture wound, or something else. Knowing how bad the matted fur was despite half an hour every day of trying to tackle it, we decided it best to bribe the vet into giving the little sod a snazzy new summer doo. Call it a small token of our appreciation for the 200 quid bill he landed us because he's a clumsy oaf that managed to cut his leg when either landing, in the garden or when fighting. Quite a nasty little cut, in what I imagine to be quite a painful area, but you'd think he'd been hit by a sniper given the whinging. Cue one very stressed cat with a constant expression of shock and pain, and one hilarious haircut, for that fresh from belsen look.
Quite fetching if you ask me...
