I always assumed that Aftershave/Cologne is for a man and everything else is girly...

Is that the case or can a bloke actually buy a mens perfume/parfum?

Am I right in assuming EDT and Cologne are the same thing in % concentrate and just named differently for the sexs?

Feck knows, but I was going to start an aftershave thread so I'll hijack yours !

My Gucci II is about to run out, so I'm open to suggestions what to try next. I've done everything Gucci now, and Issey Miyake has been done to death. The 'Concrete' Issey Miyakes smell exactly the same to me. I have a bottle of Acqua di gio for bests, so what's left ?

Anything Davidoff, esp Cool Water smells decidedly chavtastic I have found. Can't stand that Jean Paul Gaultier stink-fest either.

So what you wearing ?

Is that the one in a shape of a gold bar ? Guess it is.

I work in an airport see, and often have a wander through the duty free. Nothing to do with the orange ladies of course ...

Wearing Paul Smith today.

Very Valentino is nice.

Prada is also nice. I'd probably go for Prada.

This is a fantastic fragrance, different from most of the other mass-produced scents out there. It may be a lighter summery fragrance - Spanish cologne-like almost - but the citrus....

right Im stopping there.... off to get some brut

Sniejdger: Step away from the mainstream products.

Try "Ladyboy" or "Dear John" by B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful

Honestly smile

They are made by Lush Cosmetics, the hand made soap/body/hair products people.

Yes but the issue with that is.... no man can step within 30ft of said store without gagging, retching and passing out due to the abuse on the nasal cavity and the air being that thick with the smell that you can physically taste it....

Not nice and I try and avoid as its really that bad...

Wikipedia say:

Eau de Toilette (EdT): 5-15% (typical ~10%) aromatic compounds
Eau de Cologne (EdC): Chypre citrus type perfumes with 3-8% (typical ~5%) aromatic compounds
Splash and After shave: 1-3% aromatic compounds

So im presuming thats basically the intensity of the smell.

+1 for lush though, vile place.

Agreed. Lush capture the unique qualities of home made soup. Something no one ever wanted. No amount of over-perfumed product in the shop can overcome the stink caused by the vat of boiling cows feet out the back -being stirred by a blind gibbering Romanian called Sploj.

Horrible place.

My own tastes -I quite like those selection packs you can buy on the plane. They don't go off before you've used them and by the time you've become bored with each fragrance its time to go on holiday again and get some different ones.

EDT - more concentrated than bogg standard aftershave. Lasts longer throughout the day.

I was this > < close to buying some but @ £70 it's a bit too stiff for EdT

the Paul Smith in a stripey box is very, very similar at half the price

Aramis today, smells strong which is good cause I'm feeling a tad windy tumbleweed. Je Suis Un Homme by Etat Libre yesterday.

Try Penhaligons or Creed.
