AAARGGGHHH!!!!

Was selected for interviews, then went through 3 interviews.... job spec was specifically not listing Project management as mandatory, it was optional.

get through 3 interviews, now they have decided it should be mandatory... well thanks a fking lot for wasting 2 weeks of interview after interview and techinical test....

who do people do this???

Because they're a rubbish company?

Probably just as well you didn't get the job if they can't decide on what they want from an employee, what would it be like working there?

Because business requirements evolve & change. It's not ideal but it happens. At least they were upfront once they'd found out.

Perhaps the other candidates were stronger and they wanted to filter you out without going into a lengthy reason.

I've known it to be the other way around a few times, perhaps I was just lucky.

Get used to it..

Changing job specs or requirements / essentials is all the rage nowadays.
The employers hold all the cards, unless you measure up and fit their expectations exactly, they'll pass you down. Most employers will not take a educated risk on new employees in this current climate.
