Back on the road after years!!!
Discussion
Hi all,
Not posted on the mini forum before.
I'm currently car-less after I sold my last venture and I've been very depressed.
I've had my first car sat in my parents garage for over six years. It was decided after my old man wanted his garage back, that we would try and put it back on the road for the summer.
I have a 1992 (J) Mini Cooper Si. I don't know that much about it really other than I know it went to the John Cooper workshops for the 'S' upgrade. It has some special bits on it and a nice little plaque with a number...
Anyway it is currently in a little garage having a whole load of bodywork done. The engine runs and I should be getting him back soon after a vist to the paint shop. I would have loved to have done the work myself but it's been six years now, so it really was now or never.
I really can't wait and I would love to try and get him back in time for Beaulieu on 14th June. This was the first mini meet I ever went to when it was a celebration of the Mini Cooper. It rained all day and my mini leaked.
Great fun

I finally got my mini back on Thursday. IT Auto Services near Botley in Hampshire did a great job on the body work. He looks like he's just driven out of the show room.
It's great to be out and about driving him again and waving like mad at all the other mini's.
It's truley the best car I've ever owned/driven!!!
My best mate has now put his old mini in to get fixed up...
AND... I've already been stopped by the Police for being loud!!! They thought I was speeding when they heard me rumbling down the street. Ha ha Great stuff!!!

Hi James,
I'm down in the Gosport/Portsmouth area, but will probably be in Winchy every now and again. The back roads are lovely mini territory. I'll be keeping my eye out for you.
Im really pleased with my mini. He looks so much better than before. Just got some other little niggles to sort out now which should keep me busy??? I like your mini. The spotties look great!
