Looks like it's reading 200 on the tackymetre scale.

It's daft, it's ludicrous, it has wonky hands - always a winner in my book - and the coloured bits remind me of Roger Tallon's masterpiece:

I don't want him standing next to me. He has bad taste in watches.

I'd happily have a 'Blue Ring' watch if it was a cheap and cheerful bit of fun. (No idea what they cost.)

It looks like Lego!

...I can see that corner is going to get very full with people with an over-developed sense of fun and an underdeveloped sense of style. Move up guys.

Are those real watches or nicked from a children's nursery?

Yeah why not, nothing wrong with a fun watch. I have a couple of toy watches for the same reason. They usually come out when I go out on the less salubrious side of town!

Nothing wrong with a fun watch, that's what I always say! It must be said, however, that I wouldn't pay what they want for the Blue Ring. Do I still have to stand in the corner?!

Silbersteins run from a few K up to around 100k IIRC.

They are serious money - I've never quite decided if I hate them or not, but I know I wouldn't wear one.

There are loads of these hideous, overpriced pieces of junk about. Usually bought by people whose taste is inversley proportional to the amount of cash they have.

And yet, under the completely hideous exterior, is a very good movement indeed - the Frederic Piguet 1185.

ETA: I'm talking about the Silberstein.

The diamond-covered things are indeed hideous, and serve no purpose other than some sort of overtly-materialistic status symbol, bought not only because of its individual merits as a timepiece but as a tool to say "look, look at me, I have the money to buy this! It costs £6.54billion, doncha know!"

However, that Blue Ring Silberstein, is it not just an upmarket Swatch-esque watch? Not serious, just a bit of fun, and certainly different from your average.
