wiring in high level LED brake light

Any auto electricians out there!!!

i am hopeless with electrics so may being doing something stupid.

i am fitting a high level LED brake light and cannot get it to work.
The wiring diagram shows the green and red wire located on the connecting plug that feeds all the rear lights etc is for the brakes, when this wire is cut the rear brake lights donot work so I assume it must be the feed????

When i connect the LED light to it, why won't it work???? (yes it is earthed and it does work directly off the battery)

Any Suggestions please.

Are you sure you have not got the feeds to the light units wrong (positive to negative)? An LED means Light Emmitting Diode. Diodes only work in one direction of current flow. Good news is they normaly protect for reverse current. Try simply changing the connection around. I have LED's for all my lights except headlamps/driving lamps, and they work fine.

Just to add that you will need to wire the light in parallel with the existing light. Don't wire it in series. The lights work through the brake switch which connects the ground when activated, so don't use a seperate earth either..

have you tried wiring direct to the battery to make sure the light works???

I know it seems strange but you can spend loads of time looking for something to find its so so simple as a bad product
