I'm gradually getting to sort all the niggly little problems with my latest aquisition. Main problems are probably due to lack of use..
Next thing I need to resolve is excessive feedback through the steering wheel. Hard charging round a sharpish bend or on a roundabout will cause the front end to sort of bounce and the front wheels to wobble, feeding back through the steering wheel.
My initial thought was that the tracking was out but according to the records, everything was geo adjusted by Guglielmi less that 4k mikles ago (although I just checked it and that was in mid 2003!)
So, what's the initial diagnosis? Tyre pressure are fine and susp is Nitrons.....
Any help appreciated.

I had a bit of skipping around coming out of corners and I softened off the dampers a little and it made a big improvement, worth a try.

I'd also make sure the front tyres aren't over inflated.
Get the geo/tracking done again too. It might only have been 4000 miles ago but it only takes a metre to smack a kerb.
Those seem like the 3 most lilely things - tyre pressure, shock settings or geo. Tyre pressures and shock settings are obviously the easiest to play with BUT my advise would be to write down all the settings as they are now before you start so that you can go back. It's very easy to forget where you started from after a few adjustments.

If not, the wheels are ok. (could be buckled)
Gugs knows everything there is to know about setting a Griff, so make sure you know whats where, so you can put it back! Should be a very nice car by the sound of it.
Shocks may well need rebuilding. pick the car up at the front and feel the wheel travel. Std jack is OK. If the seals have gone in the shock, the wheel will bounce on the spring. be carefull, but its quite obvious if the shocks colapsed.
Other than that, collapsed ball joint, or empty rack if P/steering.
Sounds pretty easy for a TVR specialist to sort.

Thanks G. There is no "wobbling" in a straight line. I also thought it may have been collapsed nitrons. I have noticed that the steering wheel is slightly off centre. This may point to a tracking problem as well.
Just to be clear, when going at normal/high ish speeds through smooth sweeping corners, there isn't a problem, it's just when going quickly on sharper bends and the feed back is very excessive. The steering wheel literally shakes about an inch each way, several times, befor you exit the bend.

Defo pick it up and grab/shake the wheels.
That much play should be easy to find...and inch each way is LOADS!
Bushes around the front, ball joints, steering rack arms, s/rack bushes are all favourite. Bushes can turn to stone over the years.
I'd be careful driving it frankly having just had a stub axle shear off on me on track!
Just had a thought, could be a sticky caliper binding on the disc.

Take it to Centre Gravity or Guiglemi, that'll sort it

Do you mean that the forces on the steering wheel are so high that you can't hold it still? This is a very different problem to vibration or backlash type problems that others are suggesting.
You cannot hold the steering wheel still when the wobbling occurs. Again, this only happens when entering a corner very hard and when using a fair amount of lock i.e going around a roundabout at speed.
I'm sure I had this on an MG once and seemed to remember that the problem was out of line tracking on the front...
