Well, I got drunk as promised y'day, oww

Today my head hurts, I bought tax and my first drive (for ages) resulted in lots of black smoke and steam! Hmmm, one of the things I'd been careful to tie wrap (or not), a coolant hose decided to get intimate with an exhaust manifold. Hmmmm, melted it back together again, taped it up and ran home with a trail of water behind me!

What else did I establish.......well, my (new) battery doesn't like turning over a hot engine. My alternator isn't charging very well (according to the guage), 10-12V. I also have something which sounds unwell (bearings) in the engine bay dep't. Hmmmm, perhaps it's the alternator or water pump. Mechanic at MOT mentioned it y'day and told me it's not the engine. I trust his judgement as he's a good bloke.

Perhaps I won't go to the Dales in her this weekend though.........hire car time!

I still gave her a loving pat on the roof when I left her outside though, must be love

Don't worry, I won't mind you Caffeine is good, though many pints of carling is better, hiccup

Nope, noise there regardless.....I think, though will check, cheers. Mechanics good suggestion was take off fanbelt, which will quickly narrow it down to either alternator or water pump or engine (me hopes not )

Oh well, booked hire car for weekend. At least she's legal and in fairness she's pretty much not moved and sat outside for a year or so in my company and much longer in previous owners company.
