Doing the Fred Whitton route this weekend

Weather looks garbage, I not feeling that fit and some of the guys I'm riding with are using it as training for the Nice Ironman next month...

I think I'm going to cop a right shoeing!

Any once else done the route before? It's the second time for me.

I heard mention of this when I was in the Lakes a few weeks ago (mtbing). This post promoted me to check the route for future reference....

Its a monster! I've been up Hardknot on an MTB (1:3 signs at the bottom on the East side from what I recal!) and it was insane piece of tarmac ... on a road bike... mucho respect (+ 5 other big passes... wyrnose etc)! Hope it goes well, massive satisfation for completing that ride I expect.
