I am travelling to Aus for a couple of weeks work and thinking of loading my laptop up with programs to watch.

Any recommendations?

I like the following to give you an idea:

24
CSI
House
The Unit

The word is "programmes" smile
A program is a software application. A TV programme is something you watch on telly - inless you're American, of course.

Will you be flying on an Airbus A330 by any chance?

Hi Eric,

Sorry, I knew what I meant, just didn't quite the message to the keyboard!

It is not just the flying but whilst I am there you see. I don't anticipate lots of time off, but it is worth having on there all the same!

Flying 747 on the way out, and A380 on the way back.

tried to get into it, but just seemed a little too slow, and not upto the same level as CSI, Criminal Intent etc

The Wire.

I currently have a strange addiction to Law & Order (Special Victims Unit & Criminal Intent).

It's a common mistake these days - like using "license" instead of "licence".

I was just wondering if airlines operating fly-by-wire airliners might bring in further restrictions on operating personal elctronic devices pending the outcome of the investigation into the Airbus A330 crash this week.

The 747 isn't fly by wire - but the A380 is.

Prison Break - Maybe closest to the shows you've listed.
The West Wing - My pick of the bunch.
Sopranos
Californication

The first series isn't that good, but it gets better, Seasons 3 and 4 in particular are very very good.

Eric: I am flying Club World so if the worse happens I am covered ...

Prison Break: my sister in law was into that, I will ask her if she has any as I don't have faith in being able to download old series!

Will check out The Wire too.

I'm going through it at the minute, started series 3 last night. Got the first 3 seasons no trouble at all.

"NCIS", if you do get into it, is better than the various CSIs.

"Cold Case" is also very good.

'reet then.

Start with Prison Break Series 1,
Follow with The Sheild Series 1-6,
The Sopranos 1-6
Band of Brothers
and here's an off the wall choice... The World At War, I've just finished the DVD box set and it is amazing viewing.

Don't bother with The Wire I have never been so bored as when I tried to watch it.

How many episodes in did you get? It takes a while to get going (and to get used to), but it's one of the best things to be broadcast in recent years, imo. HBO stuff usually is (Sopranos, Band of Brothers etc)

+ 1,000,000. You now have no excuse. Band of Brothers is another corker.
