With the weakness of the USD making it more attractive to purchase in the USA and bearing in mind that some of us will be looking at tyres and other bits and pieces soon I enquired into the cost of shipping a 20ft container over which could be filled with whatever you wanted.
For ease of calculation I used Tators as the loading point and my warehouse near Colchester as the delivery point and have been quoted a cost inclusive of all customs and clearance formalities in the States and here (excluding VAT and Duty of course) and the total works out at £1,740 for the container. Or based on 20 sets of tyres £87 per set. Worth thinking about.

i looked at tirerack.com just a few days ago, the only problem is US tyres prices Michelins at least still arent much cheaper than the UK

though if there was 20x sets to one delivery address we could probably get some discount, youd have to give Chuck a big drink, then like you said import and duty taxes, then collect from your place im guessing that will outweigh from buying here

good idea though, its been mentioned a few times before but nothing came of it
