service intervals on older Gallardo
Discussion
Hi,
Does anyone know whether the Gallardo has the Ferrari style servicing intervals if mileage is low.
So, by that I mean say, you only do 3K a year then on a 430 I believe you have annual services until you reach the requied mileage interval and then you get that service done.
Is this the same on the Gallardo?
Or do you have to get a 7.5K service one year followed by the bigger 15K the year following even if you're only doing 3K miles a year.
Oh, BTW, car will be out of warranty, so no real requirement to go to a main dealer to keep in tact.
Thanks....

Does the Ferrari interval sequence above also apply to the 360?
Sorry I don't know. I was in a Ferrari dealer talking about the 430 only and what the running costs would be and hence know the intervals for a 430 only. I would have thought they would differ in the area of cam belt vs chain but apart from that I really have no idea.ChrisFitz said:

For clarification, there is an EU Law, that allows for ANY garage to perform warranty work on any car, which if you have a Lamborghini, IMHO, you should do yourself a favour and opt for.
With regards to the servicing interval, Its annual or 7.5K but these cars dont like sitting about doing cock all. Find a good independent and negotiate a deal with them over servicing. Keep the oil level topped up as these cars do burn oil and get a decent battery conditioner. Humidity attacks mechanical parts when they dont move so i would recommend adding to your carbon foot print by exercising the mechanics, fluids and seals at least weekly. The research i did before i eventually bought mine indicated to me that older cars with lower mileage could possibly be problematic later on. They definitely benefit from regular usage and regular servicing.
Enjoy the car and the grins it will give.

With this recession, its vitally important that service industries keep the customers that they have and i suppose that one way of doing that is to actually give customer service as opposed to relying on the arrogance that comes with being a dealer and promoting the down right dishonest truth that
A) Warranty can only be provided my a dealer / manufacturer
B) You get better quality service and servicing from the above.
I have pledged my loyalty to MP Supercars and they have offered me, not only a good deal with regards to servicing, but also great customer service. Let me stste hear that there is nothing in writing between the parties but i have agreed to see them for servicing and they have agreed to trim their rates. As i said before, i got a 30K service done with them and drove the car out of their door to Cyprus!!!! No need to return due to any failures.
All the best
