Rumbled!!

It occurs to me that the following practice is being applied to the Lounge:

Leave topics that *may just* fit in a sub forum, but which we all know will be better served in the Lounge, in the lounge. Until the thread starts to slow down or heads towards the bottom of page 1, then it gets shifted to a sub forum.

So, either the subforums are being used as archive folders, or this is an admission that most things generate more discussion and are better off in the Lounge afterall.

Just to clarify we move them, when we see them.

I for one don't spend all day in there or for that matter on PH.

Just spotted one that was in the lounge on page 1 for 4 hours. No mods in the lounge for 4 hours on a week day?

ETA: 4 times my (middle of the road) post count in only double the time? Not on here all day huh? Riiight...

Strangely enough the mods do have jobs as well, so while we keep an eye on the moderator reports, time for browsing the site moving topics in the day time is quite limited!

I have just noticed this.. I have not been on PH for a while and had today a post removed due to it being classed as advertising... I have to admit I had not realised that advertising event was advertising now.



I was asked to try classifieds but I don't think a motoring forum classifieds is the correct forum?

I do remember always though when people had spare ticket to concerts in the past, I know this because I did this on PH, for say, Foo Fighters they "advertised" those on the forums asking for people interested to PM them...

My point being, my post was not even on here for an hour????

I suppose it was just a coincidence the MODs were around huh?

Unbelievable as it seems, there's no conspiracy!

Mods come and go on the site as most posters do - they're not on it 24/7.

As such, if they happen upon a thread that needs looking at, then they can act upon it. But they certainly don't have the time (nor inclination) to wade through every thread/post that's appeared since they were last on!

Just luck of the draw really.

The Mods are around in the day time, but not generally browsing/housekeeping quite as much. However if something reported (like yours was) then we'll get to it pretty quickly whatever the hour.

What has happened to the lounge, why is it full of threads regarding being a man/are you a man/what girls a man likes etc, etc.

Not-all-Here got some st for starting crap threads but the content on there at present is woeful. I know I do not have to read it. (There are a lot of odd threads though - IMO) I have chosen not to post in them as I have nothing to add to the content. Just an observation on my part.

The lounge is purely for dross these days, all the interesting threads get moved off to the relevant sub-forum.

GG is still good, and the marque-specific fora are fine.

The Lounge has some decent stuff from time to time but you have to look for it/get lucky. Otherwise it's full of self-absorbed, egocentric, tedious tossers.

Although I stand by my opinion generally - the facebook generation appear to have invaded PH.
