Wheel spacers for an Octavia vRS

I need a bit of advice. I'm looking to get some for my brother in laws birthday present.

He has an '08' plate Octavia vRS in race blue. Lovely car it is to. At the moment he has the 17 inch alloys but complains they don't fill the arches. I know he's been after some but hasn't got round to it yet so I was thinking its probably the ideal gift for his up coming birthday.

I've had a quick browse, but honestly don't know where to look. Can anyone shed some light on this? Where to buy them, recommended thickness and how easy they are to fit?
