fto gearbox problem

hey guys im have problems with my fto tiptronic gearbox.. when changing from reverse to drive it goes really hard and wont select drive. i have to then put it back in reverse and release the brake slightly then brake again and select drive..
anyone had the same problem and is it an easy fix or is it time for a new box?
