Been looking at these VXR8's and had a chat with a few more dealers, unfortunately I got a bit of a shock with the shortfall on the Astra finance I was getting rid of as well which could pretty much scupper any hope. So wondering whether I should sell the charger kit separately or am I better fitting it to the Monaro and selling it that way? Would it add more in value to the Monaro than I'd get for it on its own? For the 5.7 LS1 btw. Highest trade in I've had offered for the Monaro (04 cv8) without the charger fitted is 8k!!!

Trade wise it wont add any value at all to the monaro, if you are getting rid personally would sell the kit on its own.

Just checked for you their and your car books at £8k trade so thats what its worth in any of the garages eyes you go into, anymore you get offered will just be discount they are taking out of the car you are looking to buy.

I don't understand why people trade in at all ??

Surely you'd get 10K for it if you advertised it and were after a fairly quick sale ? Better to have a large cash deposit than a car they don't neccesarily want to shift.

What is the maggie kit worth new ?

Not many second hand supercharger units up for grabs, I would put on e-bay and let everyone fight for it!.

112 afaik, as for whats there - apart from maybe a couple of hoses/clips I pretty much have everything needed to fit it, in fact got enough hose here I could make up anything thats missing when I think about it. I'll decide between tomorrow and Monday what I'm going to do, if I'm selling the Monaro then the charger will be available, along with a whole load of spares inc wheels, bootlid, lights, fibre glass moulded ls1 engine covers, hsv black turtle shell engine cover, double and single din radio adaptors, ls7 clutch, vxr brake calipers, sunglasses holder with interior light kit x 2, pedders strut brace, set of ls1 heads, spare ls1 engine etc etc etc

Yeah sell the stuff separately, you will maximise your return better, but it will be more hassle smile

lol yeah I have tended to grab random stuff from ebay etc over the last few years "just in case" or for the "hmm wonder if I could..." moments. Sunglasses/interior light mod was one those I'll bid on the two coz no way I'll win both - guess what lol, then I never got round to doing it coz I bottled out cutting the roof lining to fit it. Anyway I'm off out to finish putting front back on my car so I can take it for an mot. then I need to sit down and work out whether I can actually part with her for a chavectra as stiggy likes to call them.

Don't do it Bob, not for all the tea in China. Just fit all the bits and be happy with your lot!
